Baggage & Packing Information
You may bring a
total of 2 bags with you on MBI
· 1 small day-pack/knap-sack in
which you can carry personal items while hiking and traveling [plane carry-on
size]
· 1 larger bag (i.e. mid-sized
frame pack, duffel bag or small suitcase (wheels are good)) for all the
remaining items you will need while traveling in Israel. Keep in mind that you will be
schlepping this bag a lot.
· El Al Airlines now charges
$70 each way for a second checked bag. Habonim Dror will not pay for the second
piece of luggage, if you choose to bring one. For your own convenience, pack
lightly. All participants must be able
to carry their own luggage.
El Al Luggage Specifications
EL Al maintains very
specific rules with regards to carry-on and checked luggage. Please see below for details:
1.
Each participant is allowed 1 Piece of
Baggage Up to 23 kilos (50 Pounds)
2.
The extra baggage charge (per bag additional) for travel is
approximately $230.00 US each way. Overweight charges are between $25-155.
3.
A large instrument, such as a guitar, will be considered one piece of
luggage. It is recommended that
all instruments are packed in hard, sturdy carrying cases.
4.
All your baggage must be clearly labeled for easy identification

1. Each participant is allowed 1 Piece of Baggage Up to 23 kilos (50 Pounds)
2. The extra baggage charge (per bag additional) for travel is approximately $225.00 US each way. Overweight charges are $100.
